Jimmie Faulkner, a resident at The Woodlands, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Muncie, Indiana, recently had his artwork featured on a Christmas card.
Each year, nursing home company Life Care Centers of America invites residents in more than 200 nursing and rehab facilities to submit card designs, and one piece is chosen for each of the organization’s geographical divisions. A total of eight designs are printed and distributed to facilities and regional offices throughout Life Care.
Faulkner’s snowy barn painting was chosen as the winner for Life Care’s Central Division, which encompasses its centers in Indiana, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
“I was given different pictures, and I took a tree from one picture and used another picture to make a nice Christmas card,” said Faulkner.
A former art professor at Ball State University and Boise State University in Idaho, Faulkner has had artwork published displayed in multiple art venues, including Ball Hospital and Ball State, and published in Art Across America.
